About this statute

This law says Congress of Colombia decrees a law that modifies and adds to the Penal Code. In concurso cases, a custodial sentence may not exceed 60 years. This provision sets a maximum prison sentence of 50 years for criminal offences, except in cases of concurso. This article adds a final sentence saying the “sistema de cuartos” does not apply when preacuerdos or negotiations have been carried out between the Fiscalía and the defense. The granting of the referenced benefit is subject to full payment of the fine.
