This provision is the preamble of Law 935 of 2004, stating that Colombia honors the Province of Urabá for its 100 years belonging to the Department of Antioquia and that other provisions are issued. The Nation publicly honors Urabá (in Antioquia) and recognizes the virtues of its inhabitants and those who helped develop the region’s historical, cultural, and ecological values. El Gobierno Nacional y el Congreso de la República exaltan y enaltecen la misión cumplida por la región del Urabá Antioqueño con motivo de esta efeméride. Se autoriza al Gobierno Nacional a incorporar apropiaciones específicas en el presupuesto, si hay disponibilidad de ejecución y se cumplen los requisitos legales indicados. Los establecimientos educativos públicos y privados de Urabá deben incluir la cátedra "historia y desarrollo de Urabá" como área optativa desde el año lectivo siguiente a la vigencia de la ley.
