El terapeuta ocupacional puede ejercer competencias profesionales en seguridad social, salud, educación, trabajo, justicia, administración e investigación. Los terapeutas ocupacionales pueden prestar servicios profesionales a personas o grupos sanos o enfermos, y atender casos domiciliarios o remitidos bajo las condiciones indicadas.
