About this statute

This is the preamble to Law 1148 of 2007, stating that Congress enacted it and that it modifies Laws 136 of 1994 and 617 of 2000 and includes other provisions. The article prohibits certain spouses, permanent partners, and relatives of specified local and departmental officials from holding listed posts or contracts. If the council presidency formally says some municipal or district council members cannot attend the usual meeting place for public-order, intimidation, or threat reasons, they may meet and decide remotely. Certain households made up of councillors in municipalities covered by Law 617 of 2000 may access the family housing subsidy without proving prior savings.
