About this statute
This law establishes the Day of Child, Adolescent and Youth Congresspeople in the Congress of the Republic. This article creates “El Día de los Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes Congresistas” and requires Congress to let children and adolescents sit in the two chambers every year on the last Thursday of April. Los congresistas de ambas cámaras deben acompañar y apoyar a los niños, niñas y adolescentes congresistas en las sesiones previstas, sin interferir con sus intervenciones. The Congress must hold sessions during this day, following current procedures and after preparing an agenda based on topics proposed by the selected child and adolescent congress members. La Comisión Nacional Intersectorial para la Coordinación del Día de la Niñez y la Recreación debe organizar el proceso de definición de lineamientos técnicos, inscripción, selección, traslado, formación previa y orientación del Día de los Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes Congresistas.
