Esta ley establece condiciones mínimas para dignificar la estadía de los adultos mayores en centros de protección, centros de día e instituciones de atención. This article says the law aims to ensure quality comprehensive services and care for older adults in lodging, care, welfare, and social assistance institutions. This article defines several terms used in the law, including “Adulto Mayor” and different types of care institutions. People with severe acute conditions or illnesses requiring continuous or permanent medical care may not enter social protection centers or day centers, except in specified health-service or physician-approved cases. The legal representative must apply to the relevant health authority for authorization to install and operate the social protection/day center and submit the listed documents.
