About this statute

This law states that it modifies Title IV of Law 599 of 2000 and adds other measures to counter commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. This article changes the title of Chapter IV of Title IV of Book II of Law 599 of 2000 to “De la explotación sexual.” It is an offence to organize, facilitate, or take part in prostitution or sexual exploitation of a person under 18 for profit or to satisfy another person’s sexual desires. This article creates a crime for soliciting or demanding sexual intercourse or sexual acts with a person under 18 in exchange for payment or a promise of payment, and it sets prison penalties and aggravating factors. Using or facilitating communication channels to seek or arrange sexual contact or activity with people under 18 is punishable.
