Statute overview

About this statute

This provision identifies Law 1333 of 2009 and states that it establishes the environmental sanctioning procedure and other rules. Several environmental authorities are granted preventive powers to impose and execute preventive measures, must transfer the case within 5 business days, and must periodically train on applying this article. For environmental sanctioning procedures, the constitutional and legal principles governing administrative actions apply, along with specified environmental principles and other current environmental rules that replace or amend them. This article defines environmental harm, compensation measures, and correction measures, and says the national government through the environment ministry will regulate these definitions.
