About this statute

This provision is the preamble to Law 1468 of 2011, stating that it modifies certain articles of the Colombian Labor Code and contains other provisions. The employer must timely grant a pregnant worker the paid leave, so it starts one or two weeks before the expected birth date, depending on the mother’s decision and medical certificate.
