About this statute

This law promotes social security culture in Colombia and establishes a social security week and a national social security day. This article declares the promotion, education, encouragement, and adoption of social security culture to be of general interest in Colombia, and requires specified public, business, worker, solidarity, social protection, and educational actors to carry out actions within their competences to support it. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection is responsible for coordinating actions on social security culture and related institutional coordination. This article declares the last week of April each year as the “Semana de la Seguridad Social.” During the Week of Social Security, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and related national and territorial bodies should promote a National Day for a Social Security Culture.
