About this statute

This text is the preamble to Law 1626 of 2013, stating that the law guarantees free and mandatory vaccination for the Colombian population covered by it and adopts measures for prevention of cervical cancer. The health ministry, or the relevant successor entity, must update the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI). The national government may issue rules for gradual HPV vaccination, and the health ministry must run public information and education campaigns, especially in higher-risk departments.
