This preamble identifies Colombia and NATO as the parties and says they agreed to consult on shared political and security matters and to cooperate more closely, including exchanging sensitive or privileged information. Las Partes deben proteger y salvaguardar la información y el material de la otra Parte, usarlo solo para los fines previstos y no divulgarlo a terceros sin consentimiento. Colombia must ensure certain nationals are security-checked and approved before they can access specified information or material; the security procedures must assess loyalty and reliability before allowing access to classified information. La Oficina de Seguridad de la OTAN debe organizar medidas de seguridad para proteger información clasificada intercambiada en actividades de cooperación aprobadas. El Gobierno de Colombia debe informar a NOS cuál es la autoridad de seguridad con responsabilidad nacional similar.
