Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble of Law 1742 of 2014, which states the law’s purpose: to adopt measures for transport, drinking water, sanitation, and other projects that may require expropriation in State-led investment projects. Decisions in contract-related alternative dispute resolution must be issued in law, except in amicable composition where they may be adapted in equity. The State is responsible for land acquisition, and the responsible public entity may carry out administrative or judicial expropriation under the stated legal procedures.
