Statute overview
About this statute
This law sets rules on the costs of financial services and other related matters. Clientes may use all money in savings or electronic deposit accounts without keeping a minimum balance, and the entities must provide the means to do so without extra cost. Savings-account providers may charge financial or transaction costs only during the first 60 days of inactivity, and they may not apply retroactive charges when the account becomes active again. Certain entities that take public funds must give users a minimum remunerative interest rate on all savings accounts. This article says the law takes effect when it is promulgated and repeals any conflicting provisions.
