Statute overview

About this statute

This article says the law’s purpose is to expand the legal presumption that anatomical components are donated for transplants or other therapeutic uses. The article says organs, tissues, anatomical components, and organic liquids may only be used if the donor freely, previously, and informedly consents, or if there is a legal presumption of donation. The article presumes a person is a donor if, during life, they did not exercise their right to object to organ, tissue, or anatomical component removal after death.
