This is the preamble to Law 1842 of 2017, which declares the Colombian Paso Fino horse breed as National Genetic Heritage and states that other provisions are issued. The named national and regional public bodies must help promote, protect, preserve, study, develop, and fund the genetic and cultural values surrounding the Colombian Paso Fino horse. El Ministerio de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural puede delegar ciertas funciones sobre el libro genealógico, los certificados de registro y la representación de la raza de caballo de paso fino colombiano. El Ministerio de Cultura debe tomar medidas para declarar esa raza y sus tradiciones como de interés cultural. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development may delegate to a federated entity the power to certify breed characteristics, identify ownership, and issue individual registration certificates for the Colombian Paso Fino horse.
