This article says the law’s purpose is to change how councilors’ fees are calculated, keep their fee income at least at one smmlv, and assign social security contribution payments to fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-category municipalities. El artículo fija los honorarios por sesión de los concejales según la categoría del municipio y ordena que se ajusten cada año desde el 1 de enero de 2021 según la variación del IPC. Los concejales tienen derecho a cotizar a seguridad social, pensión, salud, ARL y cajas de compensación; el pago va con cargo al presupuesto municipal. All councilors in the country are entitled to have their monthly fees for ordinary and extraordinary sessions paid within the first 5 days of the following month.
