About this statute

This law authorizes payment of honoraria to members of Local Administrative Boards in Colombia and includes other provisions. This article says the law recognizes the constitutional and legal role of Local Administrative Board members, authorizes mayors to pay their fees, and regulates how those boards operate, with an exception for Bogotá under Decree 1421 of 1993 and related rules. Regulates Local Administrative Boards in each comuna or corregimiento, their size and term, municipal rules on ediles, honoraria, and social security coverage in larger municipalities. This article renames the administrative acts of Local Administrative Boards as local agreements and says they may approve certain development and land-use planning items. Corregidores and members of Local Administrative Boards may present local agreement projects and related proposals; members may also debate pertinent topics, exercise political oversight, and cite municipal secretaries and the municipal Personero for that purpose.
