About this statute

This law regulates the creation, structure, and operation of Family Commissions and establishes the governing body. This article states that the law aims to give Family Commissions tools to manage their institutional design and to help expand and guarantee access to justice for people affected by family violence and gender-based violence in the family context. Las Comisarías de Familia y su personal must act under rights-protecting, non-discriminatory, due-diligence principles, avoid revictimization, and respond promptly and effectively to family violence cases.
