About this statute

This preamble identifies Law 2133 of 2021 and says it establishes a regime for flagging ships and naval craft in Colombia and provides incentives for activities related to the maritime sector. This article defines key maritime terms used in the law. Ships and naval artifacts may not load or unload nuclear or radioactive materials in Colombian jurisdictional waters or ports without authorization. This article applies the law to natural and legal persons who, as owners and/or operators, register vessels and naval craft under the Colombian flag. This article classifies the Colombian single registry of vessels and naval artifacts, and says the Maritime General Directorate must regulate those classifications.
