About this statute
This law authorizes recognized research institutes and research centers to obtain qualified registration for master's and doctoral academic programs. Research institutes and centers recognized by the Ministry may seek qualified registration to offer master’s and doctorate programs if they meet the legal and regulatory requirements. This article defines research institutes and centers, including their possible public, private, or mixed nature, and sets a private-sector requirement for qualified registration of master’s and doctoral programs. El Gobierno nacional, por medio del Ministerio de Educación, puede reglamentar aspectos de la ley sobre requisitos y trámites del registro calificado para programas de maestría y doctorado. Institutos y Centros de Investigación con registro calificado may offer academic programs virtually if they ensure digital infrastructure and continuous tracking of learning outcomes.
