About this statute

This preamble states that the Colombian Congress approves Convention 156 on equal opportunities and equal treatment for workers with family responsibilities. This article says the Convention applies to workers with family responsibilities, especially where those responsibilities limit their ability to prepare for, enter, participate in, or progress in economic activity. This provision says the Convention applies to all branches of economic activity and all categories of workers. Each Member must make national policy aim to let workers with family responsibilities work without discrimination and, as far as possible, without conflict between family and work duties. Workers with family responsibilities have a right to choose their employment freely.
