About this statute

This text establishes a regional framework for recognizing higher-education studies, titles, and diplomas, and says States Parties must take measures to support academic mobility and fair recognition. The text requires States Parties to recognize higher-education studies, titles, and diplomas from other States Parties, with non-discriminatory and quality-based procedures. This article approves the Regional Convention on recognition of higher education studies, degrees, and diplomas in Latin America and the Caribbean. The agreement will bind Colombia once the international link for it is perfected. This law takes effect on the date it is published.
