About this statute
This law recognizes certain animal-related facilities as “Centers of Conservation” with a conservation and biodiversity research component. The law’s purpose is to promote protection, care, and conservation of wild fauna by voluntarily recognizing certain animal facilities as “Conservation Centers.” Zoos, aquariums, theme parks with wild animals, and similar places must meet animal-welfare standards and consider safety, research, education, conservation, and sustainability standards; the environment ministry has 12 months to regulate these objectives and set up a standards, monitoring, and evaluation system.
