Statute overview

About this statute

This provision states the purpose of the integration law and sets out who it covers, plus some administrative rules for municipalities and the immigration authority. The Immigration Service decides which municipality a refugee must live in, and the responsible municipal council must register the refugee in CPR. Kommunalbestyrelsen and Udlændingestyrelsen have duties and powers about placing refugees, registering them in CPR, offering temporary housing, and offering health assessments; the minister may set detailed rules. En læge skal gennemføre den helbredsmæssige vurdering, og kommunen og lægen skal kun videregive oplysninger/resultatet med udlændingens samtykke. A doctor who performed a health assessment must, with the foreigner’s consent, pass the result to the foreigner’s own doctor if the assessment was not done by that doctor. The minister may set further rules for how the health assessment is arranged, organized, and carried out. Eligible foreigners over 18 must be offered certain programs by the responsible municipal council.
