Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble says the electricity supply law implements parts of several EU directives, sets out the law’s purpose, and gives the minister powers to issue rules and exemptions. Section 5 lets the minister approve certain transfers, but it also requires permits for new or changed power plants and transmission networks, and it imposes ownership-separation and non-discrimination rules on network businesses. Section 40 sets governance, conflict-of-interest, contracting, separation, and ministerial rule-making requirements for certain electricity network, transmission, and collective supply companies. Visse virksomheder og netvirksomheder skal betale public authority costs and supervision costs; the minister may set rules for collection, and some licences may be withdrawn or temporarily taken over under stated conditions. This section lets the minister set detailed rules on subsidy administration, origin guarantees, reporting, publication, pricing, and supervision in the electricity sector.
