Statute overview

About this statute

The text says sulfur tax is charged on certain goods if they contain more than 0.05% sulfur, and sets the rate at 23.0 DKK per kg sulfur. Registered businesses may apply to pay tax on sulfur dioxide emissions instead of sulfur content, but they must measure, register, report, pay, and keep records under the section’s rules. Commercial goods recipients must register before goods are shipped from abroad, then report received quantities and pay the duty after each tax period. The Ministers may issue further rules, and the customs/tax authority may enforce compliance. Companies and other persons may owe duty on goods and face fines for false information, non-compliance, or handling unpaid-duty goods.
