Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the Working Environment Act implements several EU directives and sets general scope rules, exemptions, and ministerial powers for workplace safety rules. Beskæftigelsesministeren can set detailed rules on employer duties and work environment organization, and employers must maintain safe and healthy working conditions and support employee representatives. Arbejdslederen og de ansatte skal medvirke til sikre og sundhedsmæssigt forsvarlige arbejdsforhold, og flere andre aktører har konkrete sikkerhedspligter. Arbejdstilsynet may access, collect, combine, process, and share certain information for control, analysis, prevention, and statistics. The Labour Minister may also set detailed rules for these activities, and employers must document coverage by a collective agreement in the relevant case. Beskæftigelsesministeren gets several powers over the labour inspectorate, and employers and other covered persons must give requested information and feedback in specified situations.
