Statute overview

About this statute

The provision sets rules for salmonella control in cattle and other livestock, including reporting, sampling, official testing, and notification duties. The rule sets salmonella-control duties for cattle farms and related facilities, including action plans, blood testing, storage, and movement limits. The slaughterhouse must process certain animals according to Annex 4, chapters 3 and 4. The first follow-up control happens after 6 months under public supervision and then every 6 months until the farm is placed in Salmonella Dublin level 1. Section 5 says the Danish Food Administration can lift public supervision in specified Salmonella Dublin and salmonellosis cases, and it sets transport, sampling, testing, reporting, and recordkeeping duties for herd managers, transporters, dairies, slaughterhouses, and laboratories. Fødevarestyrelsen can grant dispensations if the purpose of the rules is not undermined, and it sets the conditions for the dispensation. Breaches of specified rules, failure to comply with orders, or ignoring conditions can be fined.
