About this statute

This provision says the law aims to create smoke-free environments and requires each employer to have a written smoking policy; indoor smoking is generally banned in covered places. Section 4 sets smoking bans in many child and youth institutions, limits smoking in workplaces and housing-like settings, and allows some exceptions and local decisions. Smoking rooms and smoking cabins may be established. In hotel rooms, cabins, and similar overnight guest accommodations used commercially, smoking may be allowed for guests. Smoking indoors is not allowed in collective transport and taxis. Der kan besluttes at indrette rygerum og rygekabiner på passagerskibe, og indendørs rygning på serveringssteder er ikke tilladt. The provision restricts smoking in serving places and smoking rooms, limits food and drink there, allows some exceptions for guests bringing their own drinks, and sets enforcement and fines.
