Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble says the regulation includes selected EU food-hygiene rules, that EU regulations apply directly in Denmark, and that the draft was notified under the EU information-procedure directive. Some food products that are not dairy products and contain raw milk or raw milk ingredients may be exempted from subsection 1 if they are heat-treated after the addition. Section 26 allows an exception from subsection 1 for certain uses of raw milk and raw milk ingredients, if specific heat-treatment, aging, and moisture conditions are met. Section 26 lets Fødevarestyrelsen grant exemptions from § 12(1) if alternatives keep hygiene criteria satisfied, and it sets rules for marketing raw colostrum and raw milk. During enhanced monitoring, raw cow milk may only be marketed if sampling and testing show the required cell-count or bacterial-count limits are met; otherwise marketing must stop.
