Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble says the Gas Supply Act implements parts of several EU directives and sets the Act’s purpose and scope for gas and hydrogen supply. Section 36 sets the law’s territorial scope and gives the minister power to exempt certain gas-related systems and activities; it also states consumer supply rights and limits on gas suppliers. Gasleverandøren must quickly notify the property owner after a consumer ends a gas contract if no new gas contract is in place; the notice must include at least 5 working days for the owner to arrange a new contract. A refusal of access to the system must be reasoned, and certain energy-related companies must publish tariffs and conditions for use of transmission, distribution, and LNG facilities. Gas transmission, distribution, storage and LNG operators must give applicants access as quickly as possible, publish annual commercial access terms, and consult users before setting those terms.
