Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the Postal Act implements several EU postal directives and describes the law’s purpose and scope. Virksomheder, der driver erhvervsmæssig postbefordring, skal have tilladelse fra transportministeren, og ministeren kan fastsætte regler for visse andre leveringsvirksomheder. Postvirksomheder have several delivery, labeling, secrecy, fee, and licensing duties; the Transport Minister also has broad regulatory and enforcement powers. This section sets fines for postal operators who work without a permit, breach specified provisions, or breach certain EU parcel-delivery rules. This section repeals an earlier postal law when the law takes effect, keeps a 2004 postal regulation in force until it is repealed or replaced, and says the law does not apply to the Faroe Islands or Greenland.
