Statute overview

About this statute

This regulation applies to remand prisoners in custody and gives the prison administration, courts, and police specific control powers over detention arrangements. A remand prisoner may be placed in certain institutions or hospitals only with required consent, and normally may not leave the institution without court approval. Kriminalforsorgsområdet must submit transfer questions to the Danish Prison and Probation Service Directorate in certain custody cases. A remand prisoner must be informed about rights and duties soon after placement, and must follow instructions from institution staff.
