About this statute

This provision defines key adoption terms and sets out how adoption applications, consents, declarations, and supporting documents must be submitted. The applicant must provide proof of having attended an adoption-preparatory course before phase 3 if that course is required. Adoptionssamrådet kan i særlige tilfælde give dispensation fra de nævnte frister. En ansøger, der vil gennemføre en international adoption uden at være tilmeldt hos Ankestyrelsen, skal før fase 3 indsende en bekræftelse på, at Ankestyrelsen har givet tilladelse. I fase 1 skal Familieretshuset skaffe de oplysninger, der er nødvendige for at vurdere, om ansøgeren opfylder de generelle betingelser i §§ 20-22. Reglerne beskriver, hvem der gør hvad i adoptionsforløbet, herunder undersøgelse, kursus, rådgivning og afgørelse om godkendelse.
