Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the law implements EU competition rules and sets the law’s purpose, scope, key definitions, and a ban on agreements that restrict competition. The authority may make a company’s commitments binding, and agreements or decisions prohibited under subsections 1-3 are invalid unless an exception applies. Section 9 sets out market-share-based exemptions from the competition ban, gives the competition authority powers to grant, refuse, change, or withdraw exemptions, and lets the minister set rules on how market shares are calculated.
