Statute overview

About this statute

Traffic participants must act carefully and follow traffic instructions; police and road authorities must take measures to protect children on the way to and from school. Trafikanter skal følge færdselsanvisninger fra politiet eller andre, som transportministeren har bemyndiget. Section 89 sets road-user rules for rail crossings, pedestrian movement, emergency vehicle passage, accident duties, and conduct near crashes and work areas. Drivers must give way in specified exit situations and when the right-hand vehicle has priority; cyclists and moped riders also have an unconditional duty to yield in the listed situations. Road users must signal right of way, drive so they do not create danger or inconvenience, and follow detailed stopping, parking, and pedestrian-safety rules.
