Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble says the regulation implements and reproduces parts of several EU rules on services, pesticides, and biocidal products, and that the reproduced EU regulations remain directly applicable in Denmark. Section 33 sets scope rules, key definitions, and labeling requirements for pesticides/biocidal products covered by the regulation. Miljøstyrelsen carries out certain national authority tasks under the biocides and plant protection rules, and applications under §§ 3, 4, or 14 must be in Danish or English. Applicants for approval of a pest control product must say whether it counts as dangerous under the classification rules; if they reclassify or update an approved product, they must notify the Danish Environment Agency. Active substances must be classified, packaged, and labelled before sale for use in biocidal products, unless they are for experimental testing. Biocidal products covered by this section need prior approval from the Danish Environment Agency before import, sale, or use, and several packaging/labeling rules apply.
