Statute overview

About this statute

The minister organizes the vocational education system and has powers to approve new programs, abolish programs, and set general rules for them. The minister may set rules for individual education programmes, including courses mentioned in § 33 a. Section 38 lets the minister set rules for vocational education and admission, and sets detailed admission conditions for applicants and schools. The minister may set subsidy rules, schools may charge some excursion fees, and schools must provide necessary teaching materials free of charge except as allowed. Some excursions are compulsory if fees only cover food and stay within 50 kr. per started day; otherwise participation is voluntary and alternative teaching must be offered. A school offering vocational education may charge students for participation only if it does not receive the same state subsidy as certain approved institutions.
