About this statute

Reglerne fastsætter, hvem der har valgret og valgbarhed til kommunal- og regionsrådsvalg, og giver indenrigs- og sundhedsministeren mulighed for at indgå en aftale med et andet land om tidligere valgret under visse betingelser. The minister may make reciprocity-based agreements with another country on shorter residence periods for election eligibility, and must set the applicable residence requirement no later than 10 weeks before election day. Certain persons are not eligible because of criminal penalties, subject to stated subsections. This section sets rules for election administration, voter lists, voter cards, and candidate nomination for municipal and regional elections. This section sets rules for election boards, poll workers, assistant voters, candidate lists, and election record books, including who is chosen, who must attend, and who keeps the records. You may not give, promise, or offer a financial benefit to influence someone’s action as a candidate-list supporter. Candidate lists must be submitted on time, on the approved form, with required information, and the election authority must publish specified election details and deadlines.
