Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the regulation concerns prescriptions and dose dispensing of medicines, defines key terms, and gives the Danish Medicines Agency power to decide which medicines are prescription-only and how they are grouped. Lægemidler til fødevareproducerende dyr er som udgangspunkt receptpligtige, medmindre en række sikkerheds- og brugsbetingelser er opfyldt. Medicines may be selected for special monitoring, especially if they contain listed narcotic substances, pose misuse or dependence risks, or contain new or special substances needing safety monitoring. Nogle lægemidler er altid receptpligtige, og apoteket må kun udlevere lægemidler i udleveringsgruppe »A § 4« én gang pr. recept. Apoteker may dispense certain medicinal products only under the group-specific rules here, including limits on one-time dispensing, hospital-only channels, and special conditions for production animals and dose dispensing.
