About this statute

Reglerne siger, at ingen må have mere end ét kørekort, og at kørekort kun kan udstedes, hvis ansøgeren opfylder de angivne krav til kørefærdighed, kendskab og bopæl/studieophold. A driving licence cannot be issued to a person whose driving entitlement has been restricted, withdrawn, or revoked in another EU or EEA country, except for restrictions listed in Annex 3. A minor’s category B driving licence application must be signed by the parent or parents with custody. Non-Danish and non-Nordic applicants must usually attach a residence permit or residence certificate, unless they may lawfully stay in Denmark without one. The municipality may also require proof of habitual residence in Denmark or six months’ stay as a student. Applicants for a driving licence must prove their identity with specified documents, and the municipality may require identity proof when needed. Section 32 lists what each driving licence category allows the holder to drive.
