Statute overview

About this statute

Sundhedsdatastyrelsen drives the shared digital infrastructure and may process and register certain health and other confidential information in it. Sundhedsdatastyrelsen must set and publish technical rules for connection to the common digital infrastructure, manage data deletion and logging, and ensure citizens and patients get access to relevant information. The provision says certain agreement data must be deleted from the shared infrastructure 2 years after the agreement ends, and it allows processing of specified patient and agreement-related information in the infrastructure. The infrastructure may process, receive, store, and share information about patients’ goals in healthcare, and those goals are defined broadly to include treatment and life goals agreed between the patient and connected parties. Patient-reported information may be processed in the infrastructure, including being received, stored, and shared, and patient goal information must be deleted 2 years after the goal ends.
