Statute overview

About this statute

This provision sets how medicine consumer prices/register prices are calculated, including add-ons, special formulas for certain buyers, and publication of prices. This section sets how the consumer price for certain medicines and vaccines must be calculated, using specific price components instead of the normal wholesale purchase price in the referenced cases. Apotekeren may set different prices across pharmacies and pharmacy units, but each individual site must use the same price on the same date; shipments must use the price in force at the sending pharmacy or branch; and certain livestock medicines sold outside pharmacies have their sales price set by the pharmacy or approved seller. A pharmacy must price split medicines proportionally, and the pharmacist must set the settlement price for compounded medicines based on production costs plus a reasonable profit. Section 10 defines what makes up the consumer price for magistral medicinal products.
