About this statute

This provision defines “holiday year” and “holiday period” and says an unemployment-insurance fund member can earn entitlement to holiday pay under stated payment and non-entitlement conditions. Section 4 says holiday pay can only be earned and paid under set conditions, with a 25-day cap per holiday year and an application deadline of 31 January in the following holiday period. Section 7 says a member must meet the holiday-benefit conditions during vacation, may not receive holiday benefits together with wages for the same vacation, and can receive holiday benefits only if the stated vacation, residence, and holiday-use conditions are met. Section 17 sets rules for when a member may receive holiday benefits, including required job-seeker registration for unemployed members and limits on payment for weekends.
