Statute overview

About this statute

Certain credit companies may issue naval credit instruments; existing credit companies may not do so unless they amend their bylaws and register the new agreement. A naval mortgage securing an interest-bearing loan does not, as against third parties, secure more than the capital plus the interest from the last two years and the overdue part of the current year. If several ships are mortgaged at once for one loan, the amount of encumbrance each ship must bear will be determined.
