About this statute

The territorial sea, for neighboring countries and countries whose coasts face Spain, is not to extend beyond a median line, unless there is mutual agreement otherwise. The inner limit of the territorial sea is set by the low-water line and, where applicable, by straight base lines established by the Government. The outer limit of the territorial sea is set by a line whose points are 12 nautical miles from the nearest baseline points.
