Statute overview

About this statute

Formal ratifications of the Convention must be communicated for registration to the Director General of the International Labour Office. El Convenio solo obliga a los Miembros de la OIT cuyas ratificaciones hayan sido registradas por el Director General, y entra en vigor 12 meses después del registro requerido. A ratifying Member may denounce the Convention after 10 years, by notice for registration to the Director General; the denunciation takes effect one year after registration. The Director General of the International Labour Office must notify all ILO members when ratifications, declarations, or denunciations are registered, and must also call attention to the entry-into-force date after the second ratification is registered. The Director general of the International Labour Office must send the UN Secretary-General complete information about registered ratifications, declarations, and denunciation instruments for registration.
