Statute overview

About this statute

For elections to the Valencian Courts, the electoral district is the province. The article sets the Valencian Parliament at 89 deputies, gives each of the three provinces an initial minimum of 20, and distributes the remaining seats by population using a divisor method with a tie-break on higher population. Seat allocation is based on vote totals, and candidacies below 5% of votes cast in the Comunitat Valenciana are not counted. If a proclaimed elected candidate or Member of Parliament resigns, becomes incapacitated, or dies, the seat is automatically assigned to the next candidate or, if needed, the substitute from the same list in list order. La convocatoria de elecciones a las Cortes Valencianas se hace por decreto del Presidente de la Generalitat, se publica en el diario oficial y surte efecto el día de su publicación.
