Statute overview

About this statute

The professional associations of the Canary Islands have essential purposes to improve professional quality, enforce ethics, serve the general interest, and cooperate with the Canary Islands public administrations. Professional associations may exercise a list of powers over their profession, members, fees, ethics, discipline, and internal rules. If a professional association already exists in the archipelago area, another association of the same profession may not be created with the same territorial boundary. Certain mergers and segregations of professional associations must be done by a law of the Canary Islands Parliament. La fusión o absorción entre Colegios de la misma profesión requiere propuesta acordada por todos los Colegios afectados y aprobación por Decreto del Gobierno de Canarias.
